After the sales of Apple declined for the first time since 2001, Apple has started strengthening its innovative ideas for the next upcoming iPhone.
In the wake of this decline, first response came from the executive of Foxconn, a manufacturer partner of Apple. He recently said that Apple is planning to switch the iPhone from LTPS to OLED display. OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) will make the iPhone having a curved display this time.
The new OLED display has advantages as well as some remarkable disadvantages too.
Let’s take a look at them:
- Lower cost in future.
- Better picture quality.
- Power efficiency and thickness.
- Faster response time.
- Flexible and lightweight plastic substrates.
- Limited lifespan.
- Limited color balance
- Water damage
- Outdoor performance.
- Efficiency of blue OLED’s.
This should not be seen as surprise, because Apple’s biggest rival Samsung is using OLED in his Note 7 and S7 Edge. Now as the updates and news will follow this in future too. It seems very obvious to follow this for the iPhone lovers. Innovation of Apple should be competitive enough to raise the sales again in market. As the rivalry will not decline for the throne in future for sure.
