Windows 7 and Windows 8.1: Microsoft stopped sales for PC

2 min read

In most recent update, Microsoft has discontinued its most popular operating system ever made Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. End of sales for both the operating system means these will not be available with the new PC.

This also means that these will no longer be shipped to retailers or Original Equipment Manufacturers(OEM). OEM are PC manufacturers who generally pre install windows software’s.
Point here to be noticed is that OEM are the last official way to still get Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.

Ongoing update for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will last till January 2020 and January 2023. The end of sale will definitely give a boost to Windows 10.

Windows 7 was on sale for 7 years since 2009 while Windows 8/8.1 was for 4 years only.

So if you want your PC to be equipped with Windows 7/Windows 8.1. Then hurry up before stocks of OEM gets empty.

Now the every Windows PC will come with windows 10 and users will not be able to get it with a previous edition.
