Apple for the first time ever added an India specific feature- “Panic Button”

Apple has rolled out it’s new update  iOS 10.2 introducing “ Panic” button for indian iPhone and iPad users. This emergency panic button will raise an alarm in the mode of safety call when the power button is pressed rapidly a specific number of times.

As you upgrade to iOS 10.2 , you need to go to setting menu and a click on General will provide you an option to personalize the panic button setting. Where you will be given an option to select  specific number of times the power button pressed when it should be ready to call on “112”. This number will be live across the country from 1 January 2017 onwards.

Some other features which has been rolled out with iOS 10.2 are:

1-Upgraded live photo feature to improve stabilization and to achieve a quicker frame rate.

2- Camera app zooming problem resolved.

3- Added 100 new emojis in different categories.

4- Effects has been added to iMessage app.  

5- No update has been reported about battery issue.

6- Problem with “memories” features resolved.

Other than that many apps has been updated which includes Apple TV, Apple music app and etc.

The panic button features is a welcome step from Apple. India has recently released a compulsory ruling regarding this and in response Apple has accepted the ruling. Lets see how the effects of this feature count over the users in India.
